  • First Bet Insurance offer starts 23 June 2025.
  • First Bet Insurance is based on a customer's first losing horse racing bet resulted by the system each day, regardless of bet placement time, race time or any feed/resulting delays.
  • First bets must be single bets, no multiples, to qualify for the First Bet Insurance refund.
  • Only real money bets will be eligible, bets made with bonus funds will not qualify for a refund.
  • Refunds will be limited to a maximum of R1,000 (Ie, a bet stake of R5,000).
  • Refunds will be paid in bonus funds.
  • In order to claim your First Bet Insurance refund, please email support@betfred.co.za with your UserID and "First Bet Insurance" in the subject line.
  • Emails must be sent within 24 hours of bet placement in order to be claims.
  • Bonus funds will need to be rolled over four times at any odds before they can be transferred to main wallet.
  • Stake of the bet will not be returned to your bonus wallet.
  • Bonus funds can be used to place bets on single bets only, no Multiples or Bet Builder bets will be permitted.
  • The maximum payout for any bet placed with bonus funds is R10,000.
  • Bonus funds can only be used to place bets on prematch, horseracing, and lucky numbers. Bonus money cannot be used to place bets on single number or bonus/powerball lucky numbers bets and no place bets on horse racing are permitted - should you place a bet on any of these markets, your bet will be voided for payout and your funds will not be returned to you. Furthermore, you will not be eligible for any further bet for this promotion
  • If your Bonus Bet is a non-runner/made void, you will not be eligible for a refund or any further bonus bet for this promotion.
  • Bonus funds will expire if not fully transferred to main wallet within seven days of crediting, and any bets not resulted by the time of expiry will be cancelled.
  • Only persons over the age of 18 may enter the competition.
  • Prizes are non-transferrable.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw any or all offers or payouts in respect of customers that Betfred believes have manipulated the promotional intention of these bonus funds and offer
